That should go a long way in closing the gap with Google. It could be a good deal for publishers, as we all know how the big G can do things however they want at the moment. They may be a little more careful with a serious competitor...

I don't see a lot of synergy through it. You couldn't really combine Yahoo & MSN, together they wouldn't be as good as apart. But it'd certainly give MS control over more eyeballs.

what Microsoft should do is.... start a new company with yahoo where they put all their different sites in 1 company and microsoft itself should just focus on software for computers....

I am not sure Microsoft woul do anything more impressive than Yahoo already did. If you look at MSN, they been around a long time and Google and Yahoo kicked their butts on search engines. I think they should focus on the market they control (software) and leave Yahoo alone. JMO
