Toolbar PR update

It seems there was a toolbar PR update on the 14th July. Cant say it was particulary good for me...

Interestingly, PR is now down, but Google traffic has gone up for House buying site. The site has substantially more link exchanges, plus an extra site wide outgoing link.

I now have 7 PR3s and just the one PR4...

Toolbar PR is not actual PR. Google updates the toolbar PR seperate from it's actual search index, so any SERP changes that coincide with toolbar updates are completely coincidental.

I should perhaps have said the SERP improvements have occured over the last couple of months ish.

Actual PR would have been going down in this period due to the extra outgoing links, but Google traffic has risen. This update has just illustrated the fact that link exchanging, even to the point of reducing your own PR, can still improve traffic. Just one example, but nothing else has changed on the site, but the link exchanges.

Hmmm, slow I guess compared to some of you guy's sites. Made about $130 on Adsense in June...

I have not seen any toolbar PR changes on my sites, but my traffic from Google is up. This summer my traffic is up so it's been much better than last summer.

Right now, google appears to be doing rolling updates again. After the bourbon update, my ranking on the term 'spider bites' fell to like 8 or 9. In the past few weeks, I have slowly gone up 1 or 2 positions at a time. Around the 15th of July, I've moved up to #3.

But who knows with them, no predicting or relying on Google traffic.

'sunburn' was even a bigger jump. The bourbon update moved me down to ~30 or 40. Now I'm #5...Which again was a slow increase over the past few weeks.

my main site is down from 5 to 4 (at least on the toolbar).. This is despite we now have around double the number of incoming links since a few sites got reindexed... Perhaps another update will see it go back or even rise?
