    current serps

Has anyone actually figured out what has happened and why everyones sites fell so badly?

googles rankings seem to be fairly bad. the listing for 'msn emotions' is terrible, with less than half of the first page being directally relivent to the search! I ask, what has sleeping pills got to do with 'msn emotions'?! are they trying to phase keywords out or something?

It seems crazy, are we still expecting it to change back to how the listings used to be? or have we missed something and just need to learn the new way to seo?

There's no way they've phased out keywords. That could never happen. They'd have to use pictures to rank sites instead (!)

I don't think we're going to see the results change back now. Though there may be slight changes.

The most likely explanation seems to be Local Rank or some Local Rank based system. See this thread for a bit more info...

wow nohaber put a huge post since i last looked. thanks!

My point about kw's was that perhaps its becoming more content based as aposed to kw density. obviously they couldnt' get rid of them completely but refining the use of them with more emphsis on heading tags?
there was a site on the first page with only a couple of occurances of msn emotions kw and they were both in h1 tags.

yea a lot of the firs page ones have high kw's. is there any reason why this isn't consistant in all seraches? considering all the pr's and links and stuff. how do some sites still manage to get up there with no obvious reasons?

It's hard to say, because it's not always obvious.

I've found a few, but most are targetted to emoticons, not emotions. If you want their URLs say.
