No dataceners responding?
I just done a search on googledance.com and NONE of the datacenters are responding now. Weird.

Hmm. Something is cooking.

I hope this means new SERPs that are actually fair to our websites...
I tried and they all are bring up error messages... Something is either wrong or updating...

How can you tell they're down?

Well, I don't know if they're "down" but none of them are resolving. Go to googledance.com and select "All Datacenters" then type in your keyword and hit "search now". Not one of them resolves.
First it was about 3 that weren't resolving, then only 3 were resolving and now none are.

So how are the searches being powered?
*has no idea how this works*

You type your search term in, then the seochat script goes to get the results from the ten datacentres and put the results in the frames on the results page. I assume...
Unfortunately none of them are replying to the script so no results show.

Sorry, I meant Google searches themselves (if the data centers aren't responding... yeah).

Let's try this.
Go here, check "All Datacenters" and "Include: google.ae", then enter a search phrase you are currently tracking for one of your sites that has dropped from the rankings since last weekend and/or you think should move up.
These are my observations on two search terms that I expected to rise substantially after this GoogleDance. Indeed, the terms have risen quite nicely since this past weekend on google.ae, google.fr, google.it, etc. Basically, just about any international Google site I check. But not on Google.com.
Is this the case for anyone else?

Speculation time about the non-accessable datacenters.
Do you think Google has made this a permanent change because they're tired of SE-fanatics like us checking up on them? Or perhaps it has more to do with the latest GoogleDance that may or may not yet be finished..?

Umm... I'm a fanatic SEO person but I've never got any listings for the keywords I target. Same happend with some of chromates sites...

Well, on all the international sites, my rankings stayed the same.
I have no idea about the datacenters. I read somewhere that google have bought a whole new batch of IPs for new datacenters or something like that. I think I might have seen that on WMW.
I have to say that I still think some form of SEO filter is being applied. I know there are examples of sites that are extremely optimized, but are still ranked highly. But I'm going on personal experiences.
Firstly, Local Rank / Hilltop etc would only re-arrange the rankings. They wouldn't completely dump sites from the SERPs for certain keywords.
I heard a theory whereby google look at all the backlink anchor text for a site and then look at the on page seo. If there is lots of matching on page text, then the site ma get penalized. This is just a theory of course!
Taking a look at the top sites for "carbohydrate counter" you'll see that they actually mention the keywords once or twice over the whole page. So deciding I had nothing to lose because my rankings for that site are so bad anyway, I completely depleted the density of the "carbohydrate counter" key phrase on my site. I resubmitted to google, the page got spidered and then the following night my ranking improved considerably. <shrug>
