    Web Hosting Suggestions

Hello, I am somewhat of a beginner with webhosting. I have created websites before, but I'm very unfamiliar with webhosting services. Normally, I have used geocities for hobbies. However, I am considering creating a downloads site, so I would, likely, need more bandwidth and space than geocities offers.

I would prefer a free webhosting service but any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

    web hosting

There are many website hosting companies available.
Your best best would be to search forums dedicated to webhosting and go through the reviews and choose the one hosting company that is "best for you"

Free web hosting is good buy you are not going to have the so many options provided by the professional paid services. The paid hosting packages today are very affordable say $45-95 a year, loaded with many options.

I have used hostmatters.com before for small sites and they are pretty solid and start about 70 bucks a year I think.

Best to go paid really, it;s not that much money and you avoid ads and normally get a decent service and support.

    Hi Bad Azz Dude,

The first thing you should do is figure out how what you need from a host and go from there. For example, how many websites, databases, storage space, etc.

If you are a beginner perhaps you might want to look for a host that provides online tutorials?

I am new to building websites and hosting and the rest, I have found a good site for beginners if they are wanting to build a site for some fun. Check out this site http://homepagenation.com I made this site in about 10minutes. As I said, it is good for beginners as there is no HTML needed. However, I am looking to get into some sites where I can make use of Google Adsense etc, does anyone have any suggestions as to why sites, builders or hosts are best???
