    Google analytics and performance

If I install Google Analytics on client-side, will it have any effect on user experience of page load performance?

What about if I install AwStats on server-side?

Which of the two has less impact on page-load performance?

While Google Analytics is client-side, the effect on your page load will be negligible, and if you put it at the bottom of your page, the rest of the page should load first anyway if their javascript happened to hang.

On the plus side, it has much more detailed reporting, and has no impact on your own server like AwStats would, so I would definitely recommend using Analytics.
