    Deleted Domains

    Hi all,

I'm planning a new site and there are two domains which I'm thinking about using. One of them has been used before, BUT I can't find any backlinks or anything else. The other is completely brand new.

So, does it matter which I use? Will I get any benefit from using the deleted one?

    Thanks,
    Mike

No benefit from using the deleted one. Obviously if there were links to it, then this would be the benefit.

And the only negative thing would be the possibility of being banned, if the previous owner used it for spammy practices. This of course is highly unlikely, and never a reason not to pursue a domain (especially when the process of getting unbanned in Google has gotten easier).

That's good then, I preferred the one that hadn't been registered before anyway

If you believe that the old domain was banned then I agree try to use the new domain name.
