    Cool AWS-related sites

If you want to download lists of Amazon browse nodes, go here:

    http://www.browsenodes.com

If you want to see an excellent example of what's possible with AWS, go here:

    http://www.activecircle.com

Active Circle is cool technology-wise, though I'm not sure how it would do with ordinary shoppers. Be sure to check out the "bubble view" of the results panel in the lower-right quadrant.

Thanks for the browsenodes link, very useful. Its like it was made just for me

Althought it doesn't go very deep... which is too bad.

Alot of the newer stores still don't work right with AWS currently anyway. Which is a shame. Hopefully when they release AWS4 they will.

Has Amazon announced a release date for AWS4?

BTW, is it possible to use AWS to query a node for sub nodes?

I saw on the AWS discussion board that they should have an announcement about v4 in early February.

I don't think it's possible to query AWS for sub-nodes. I think people have been building lists of nodes via screen-scraping.

Does that mean that people with AWS sites will have to update their sites to accomodate the new Amazon AWS v4?

Interesting sites. Once I figured out what was going on in "Bubble view" I found it quite impressive. Something I would use if i were looking purchase.

I think I read in an AWS chat transcript that they won't depreciate AWS v3 for a while.

Yeah, AWS 1 and 2 haven't even been "turned off" yet, so I would expect AWS 3 to be active for quite a while.

I'm sure there will be some re-programming required to take advantage of AWS 4. But if they fix the problems with AWS 3 it will be worth it. They've led us to believe that developers will really like v4. Of course, I'll wait until I actually get my hands on it rather than believe the hype.

Has anyone had problems with AWS v3 this month? I think it's run pretty smooth so far, although I heard there was an issue with SOAP the other day (I'm using REST).

I just tried visiting active circle and was prompted for a login and password.
