Google is Updating

All of my backward link counts dropped, but PR and rankings stayed the same. I also have alot of new backward links listed.

It looks like Google is listing fewer backward links from the same site, but it of course still counts them.

Can I ask how I check for back links? Also I heard that you can check your pagerank from www-fi ? How do I do that ?

To check your PR you need to use your windows hosts file.

Do a search on Google on "using the hosts file" and you'll find a tutorial.

Then put this line in it:

216.239.41.104 toolbarqueries.google.com

To check for backlinks simply visit the site, use the toolbar to check for backlinks, and then change the url to read www-fi

Great toolbarqueries tip... i've been looking for a straight forward way of checking your future pagerank.

How often does this pagerank value fluctuate during the dance? Little to none?

It shouldn't fluctuate much.

Looks like google is done updating.
The backward links for Yahoo on www.google.com have been steady at 799,000. I haven't seen the old 617,000 data for over 24 hours.
