When/If you leave comments on blogs...

Do you use a 'real' email address (one that you use the most and check most often) or just a secondary address?

I normally do the 'secondary' address thing cause I want zero spam, but my secondary address gets checked very little so here lately I've been using my primary address when I comment on blogs and I've started receiving some spam (had none before). I only comment on reputable blogs usually but I guess that doesn't make them spam free.

I use a real email address and have never gotten spam because of the blogs I have posted on (that I am aware of).

The few blogs I post on don't show the email address publically, so I have no problem using a primary email address.

I make a new one for each website ie: nameofblogorwhatever@mydomain .com, then I can identify the spam source.

I've thought about that before, but after a second thought, that's way more time that I want to invest. lol

Yeah I don't either, but even though they say they are not 'public' I thought maybe these blogs are selling the emails or something. May just be a coincidence.

Nah its not much work. You just set up the Default Address in cpanel [Mail Manager] once.

Then every email address you "create" on the fly gets routed to this default address.

You cop a bit of spam from info@ webmaster@ sales@ but it's not too much.

I use my default one. I am leaving a comment because I want to discuss something and I like the owner to be able to get back me if need be.
