I guess you're right. The guy registers 5 seconds ago, posts 2 long, elaborate (pre-constructed) posts and leaves. Good thing the post doesn't read like spam either! Looks nothing like the dozens of spam e-mails I receive daily. Oh, and I'm sure that this is the only forum he did it in, too.

    Right.

I don't like it when people just post in the market place then don't post anywhere else (maybe the odd post). But there's no rules here so it doesn't really matter

While this forum is still small I'm not putting any advertising restrictions on the marketplace to foster more activity.

Spam is unsolicited, those posts weren't. The Marketplace forum is there for people to offer services or trade stuff, so the posts can't be considered spam. So long as the post doesn't violate any guidelines or laws, there shouldn't be a problem. Whether the guy has only been registered for 5 seconds or not is inconsequential.

I do agree it does feel like the poster is taking liberties and getting something for nothing but while the forum's there in its current form, it doesn't really matter.

You're not offering a service or trading anything, so no. However, if you were offering a service or selling something and you happen to a sig, then that would be ok.

I think he could advertise new games he's added to his site though? You could class that as a service.

I don't think that many people know how good of a tool this site really is...

It's a shame that people abuse it by registering to make one post advertising their site.
