    Free, simple online button maker?

I’d like to create a few buttons appropriate for placing in sidebars. They’d be very simple: background color, plain font with a format like:

    Listed At
    Domain

I found a few through Google but they focused on special effects and tended to have oddball fonts and/or very poor resolution.

Can anyone point me to a useful site?

    Thanks,
    Richard

I'm assuming you don't have photoshop so why not use microsoft paint. It's a very simple program but it will do what you need.

Or you could download something like The GIMP or InkScape.

For that matter, if all you're wanting is something very simple, you could always just style a text link with CSS.

I remember opening it once about the time Windows 3.1 first came out. Forgot it was on this PC.

    Thanks,

I freely admit that those programs are beyond me. I almost never need graphics so it is hard to feel like investing much time or money.

CSS buttons are nice but this is for sites that are listed in some of my directory projects.

    Thanks,
    Richard

You can check www.kalsey.com/tools/buttonmaker for the anti-pixel buttons or www.buttonator.com for more fancy ones.

Apologies if this isn't an issue, or you are already aware - are you aware that using text links is better for SEO purposes than using images?

I've used Kalsey but those little buttons have their limitations.

Buttonator seems to be down right now. I'll try again later. Thanks for the link.

    I agree.

This is strictly to get inbound links. The graphics button is something that some people will put on their site when they wouldn't put up a text link. People like "badges."

    Thanks,
    Richard

Ah ok - I just thought it needed mentioning since no one had already.
