To get high rank in MSN, here is most of these people doing it:
1. Register a domain name with keyword in it. Like widget-online-widget-buy-widget.com
2. Spam every possible blog / guest book and link to this domain with widget anchor text. Key is number of links and you will get on top.
How many 'back links' from blogs are needed VERSUS number of 'back links' from not related blog sites ('regular' sites if you can say so) in order to get the same 1st page ranking in MSN Search?Originally Posted by nitin
With other words how powerful are incoming links from Blogs compared to incoming links from other sites?

When talking about blog links, all it matters is number. Most of the people use tools (this is certainly blackhat stuff) to sign in automaticaly in blogs. Go to MSN and make a search for any top credit term, e.g. payday loan or something similar. Do a contain term search with domain name for the sub of blogs that are ranking top. E.g. on msn you search for "widget-sell.cleanblog.com" You will typicaly see 2 K to 15 K of these contain term in other blogs. And again it depends upon search term.
Many people get links in bulk from FFA, many people play it chain like where in they get some of the subs of blog popular by blog signing and then interlinking all their sites with that sub blog.
But if you have a lot of FFA links or using link farms there might be a great change that search engines will ban you, correct?Originally Posted by nitin
Can you explain again: "Many people play it chain like where in they get some of the subs of blog popular by blog signing and then interlinking all their sites with that sub blog." I didn't understand that part!
Thanks a lot!

See the way, these sites work, they dont rank on top for forever. They just need one week or in many cases just one day at top to make a killing. They keep on getting banned, but then they create thousands new sites as well. SE frowns upon link farm and they will ban the site in say one week (typically they take more than a week in banning), but one week top 10 for Buy Phentermine is 50 K.
When I say chain, it is like this. Some guys rent a sub from a popular blog site. Basically they go to a regular log site with huge backlinks and will offer say 500$ a month and ask them to create a subdomain abc.theirblog.com Also they will ask blog site to give links to this sub from all their pages. Most of the blogs are maintained by individuals who will jump upon this offer. Now on this sub the blackhat guy will put hundred page site and sure enough all these hundred pages will be linking to his other similar sites. Imagine the link juice of hundreds of pages of a popular site linking to another popular blog site sub with a great anchor text.
Sure enough these practices are frowned upon by SEs and that is why it is blackhat. They keep on baning these subs and blackhat guy will go to other blog site and make a similar deal wit other site as well.
