    Swapping From phpBB to vBulletin?

    Hi all,

Say if I had a phpBB forum, and wanted to change to vBulletin. Would it be easy to transfer all the posts, moderators etc?

Don't really want to splash out on VB first, want to see how it goes

    Thanks,
    Mike

I know they have importers for phpbb. Maybe someone else will know the specifics, but I know there is one.

If vB were on the ball they would offer one themselves as part of the package.

I think if you log into the members area, there are converters there. I wouldn't know since I deal with phpBB, that's just from what I've heard...err, well read.

I've done it, its not a problem at all. The only issue that came up was the banned users did not carry over. There was still a banned usergroup, but it had full permissions by default.

vBulletin offers a converter that you can download from the member's area for free. (Well, I guess it's not really "free," but it's included in the price you pay for vBulletin.)
