    .htaccess files

    Hi all,

I need to edit my .htaccess file, but can't seem to find it anywhere on my hosting account. I have heard that if you don't have your own server you don't have access to one, so as I don't what do you think I should do?

    Thanks a lot,
    Mike

It doesn't display for some reason. It hides when you upload it. Just upload over it. Me and Gazza tested it by blocking each others IP addresses with it.

You can just upload over the top of it as Inka says. If you have SSH access then you have much more control and if you log in there, you will see it and can edit it.

If you're using ws_ftp in the command entry box (the white text box on the side) enter "-a" to see it.

any file that begins with a "." is hidden in linux and to view it you need to us the "ls -a" command. With ws_ftp you just need to enter the -a extension and hit refresh.
