    Post Dell To Buy Alienware

    http://reviews.cnet.com/4531-10921_7-6464030.html

The new source, a contact at a high-end vendor who requested anonymity, claims that two of his company's suppliers confirmed that the deal has been done, and he also claims that his company has received an influx of resumes from Alienware employees

    Interesting.

I remember a while ago (like 3 years) seeing a comparison between a Dell XPS, Alienware, and Falcon Northwest systems. They were identical in everything except price, the Dell was a few grand cheaper.

I wonder if buying the Alienware brand is just going to be an attempt to sell XPS for more to sucker consumers who think they're getting something special.

I still need to send my POS Alienware laptop back to get it fixed.
Damn lemon! Everything has gone wrong with it.

Video Card, Cd-Rom, Power Supply, CPU Fan, etc. barely a year old and RARELY USED!

I`m gonna get it all fixed and sell it, and ge ta tiny laptop... Sony or Dell 600m o something small!

Have you guys heard about the new Sony coming out soon?

I can't for the life of me remember the model number, but from what I've heard, instead of using an LCD screen, it's using some kind of LED.

Anyway, the main benefit of that (or so I hear) is that it's got something silly like 8 hours of battery life.
It sounds awesome if it's true, but I can't remember the model number (I think he told me) so can't be sure.

Has anyone else heard about it...

Either way, I've got a powerbook ~ but 8 hours battery would be cool.
