I saw this site linked to over at Engadget today: http://www.monster-pod.com/
All I can say is, its a good thing I'm running dual monitors so I can view the whole width without having to scroll over.

Oh god, that is terrible, must be very bad for the business when you can't even see the whole site. And to top it all off, it's coded in FrontPage
<meta content="Microsoft FrontPage 6.0" name="GENERATOR" />
It actually occupies more space off my screen than it does on. 1024x768
I think this is a great example of how a website should not be designed. Ocassionaly i come across these design sites that use a horizontal scroll bar, that never really bothers me. But having both a horizontal and vertical scroll bar is a bit to much.

Why, why, why, oh why? And soo orange.
It almost looks like someone has taken a print brochure, and just copied it to the web. Hey, if the available screen size is too small well mr surfer thats just your hard luck.
I have a small client who I do database development and consulting for. One of the girls there was given the task of updating their home brewed website and of course used FrontPage. She designed the page to fill the screen of her 1024x768 monitor and then discovered, that it didn't display right on the computers they use at the sales counter, which were set to 800x600 to make the point of sale database interface easier to read at further distances.
Now the reason those computers were set to 800x600 is that the database front end for their point of sale system was designed for a 800x600 monitor because when its development began (before me) all the computers at this store had older computers 800x600 monitors. Although though new computers were coming online could handle higher resolutions, it would have been too costly to maintain two database interfaces one for 800x600 monitors and one for 1024x768 monitors. Since the sales desk computers primary mission was point of sale so they were set to the lower resolution.
Well I came in one morning and sales staff was complaining of headaches and eye strain. When I looked at the sales desk computers, I discovered that the solution the girl responsible for the website had come up with to stop the horizontal scroll of the website was to raise the resolution of the point off sale computers to 1024x768. This not only made it harder to read the point of sale interface, but in the process of raising the resolution, the refresh rate had been lowered to 60 Hertz. As a result, this caused a flicker on the monitors which was causing the eye strain.
The girl has since left the company so I'm hoping to be able to help design a new website without needing to worry about hurting any feelings.

I like how they need to use a 1091 x 1206 image just to show us that you can carry your camera:

absolutely the most pathetic page Ive ever seen. Even on my 1600 screen it scrolls and slower than death.
