Why is EditPlus doing this?

Every time I save a file it seems to make a .bak file also. Do I have some setting wrong or something here?

I use ultraedit, and it does the same thing by default. It's just saving a backup file. You would be able to change this in the settings somewhere

Yeah does same with me.

To stop it go to Tools > Preferences > Files > Uncheck the box which says "Create backup file when saving"

Or you can do like I do and create a backup folder in your my docs and let it store it there. I do this with ultraedit and it's saved my arse more than once

Ya, I do what Chrispian does. I don't mind the files, I just didn't want them mucking up my directory tree with duplicates.
