    Amazon cookie question...

If I send a customer to Amazon who already has an account from a previous visit - do I get any credit if they buy something new?

The reason I ask is because I was testing links to Amazon and noticed my details where already entered - it got me wondering.

I am pretty sure that you do not, unless they go to Amazon through your site again.

    Sorry - I'm not following...

Do you mean they have to go through my site to amazon twice in order for me to get the credit?

Or do you mean if they come through my site only once to amazon then I will get the credit?

You only get credit when they go to your site and then go to Amazon. It works by the URL not a cookie.

Kinda. It works by a cookie but the cookie only lasts for 24 hours. The affiliate cookie is different than the user recognition cookie. Someone has to buy something within 24 hours for you to get the credit.

This is where I got my information, I may have interpreted it improperly.

We will not, however, pay referral fees on any Products that are added to a customer's Shopping Cart or are purchased via our 1-Click feature after the customer has reentered the Amazon.com Site (other than through a Special Link from your site), as determined by us, even if the customer previously followed a link from your site to the Amazon.com Site.
