    Placeholder for domain

I am very new at making web sites. First I have uploaded my website using MS frontpage to my web server. After typing in my URL I get This :

    PlaceHolder for bonfilsironworks.com
This is the placeholder for domain bonfilsironworks.com. If you see this page after uploading site content you probably have not replaced the index.html file. This page has been automatically generated by Server Administrator.
    www.bonfilsironworks.com

What do I need to do to have just my URL and description come up in the search engine? Thanks

http://www.google.com/addurl.html is a good place to start.

Also exchange links, advertise, promote etc...

Make sure you have replaced the index.html in the root directory. IE make sure you uploded your files to the root directory - not a folder in the root directory.

A good FTP prog I use is FTP Commander. Use this to check where everything has gone in your domain.

Ah, you appear to have it working now! You do need to get rid of that hit counter though! Just count how many professional sites have a hit counter. Hit counters are for basic personal homepages - you dont want one!

    Welcome to the site though!

The index.htlm file is in the same folder as all the other web pages. So you are saying to make a new folder outside of the web folder and have the index.htlm file in that?
