Logo Review

I didn't see any other review section appropriate for logos, so if this is wrong to post here please excuse me.

I'm designing a new golf website and just came up with this logo quickly and would like some opinions on it please. It was done very quickly and was about the only thing I could currently think of as an idea...I'm having some designers block.

if the guy had colour instead of black and white it would look better

Yeah, that is what I was thinking too. I was gonna start working on coloring it in, more or less like all the vector art of different people/animals we all see around the web, but it's to late tonight.

Hmmm I like your text logo (It's a very nice font, and good coloring) however, I very much dislike the gradient that the guy has put on him. It just seems to irk me for some reason.

Nice - I'd make Kentucky in bolder text, though. But that's just me

Here are two more revisions. I changed "Kentucky" to blue because the header background is going to be green, so I didn't think two greens would go well.

3 looks great. I liked the golfer in the first one but having the state as an image might convey your site's image better.
