Thread: Which host?

    Which host?

Just curious to see where all the pros here at websitepublisher host their site.

Currently I'm with Intersabre, which is my first host for my first and currently only site...and IMO its great. I pay 29 dollars a year for what I think is a ton of features. But I've got right now about 4 sites in the pipeline I'm hopeing to publish and just want to see what else is out there.

I lease servers from Ev1Servers.net and BurstNET (phasing these out and moving everything to EV1). Currently have 4 servers with EV1 and .... 5-6 with BurstNET -- just waiting for the credit on my account to run out.

I use RackSlash, they've been amazing so far. I also signed up with Incognito Networks which I regret.

    ServerMatrix.com and ThePlanet.com

Same company different divisions. I`ve used EV1/RackShack, BeachComber, and a few others and SM/TP support is superior as well as price and product.

    I think I have 5 servers maybe 4.

I am currently hosted at ResellerZOOM.com and have few complaints. For the price I am paying, the service is quite nice for hosting many websites. Sometimes the servers can be a bit slow but for $10 or so per month, its not bad at all.

I'm using www.bluewho.com - very pleased with them. I'm using the $20/m reseller account.

Hostgator seem to have all good reviews, so I might go with them if I had to move - you seem to get a bit more for your money than with bluewho.

I use webcs.com. Have for years. You definitely pay for what you get but if you want to stay up and have people who care, great place.

    I lease 5 servers from Ev1.

Dedicated servers are really the way to go, no 200 sites on a single server, no having to get a new account for each new website.

One thing to consider would be sharing a server with friends if you do not need all of it now.

Maybe some people from the forum should get together and get a dedicated server.

Slightly off topic, but what software do you use to manage your dedicated servers? Do you use a cpanel/whm kind of setup or just use linux via ssh?

Ideally dedicated server is essential for larger sites; just make sure you choose the right type of server for your needs. While a dedicated server offers many benefits, it also presents a challenge: you will take on some of the responsibility for managing it.
