Smile Looking for new ideas, maybe?

HI, Just found this place, hope I'm in the right place for this post.

I created this website WomenAnglers from a template from the sister site WomenHunters. I had to quit working for WH's but was told I could use the template to start WomenAnglers, so I did. Then she complained that I'm in copy right infringment so I changed the look of the place so it wasn't a clone of hers. But now I'm looking for more ideas to set it even more apart from her site.

Please take a look and tell me what more I could do if anything at all. I've not really had anyone outside of the site to comment on my work.

I work with Go-Live and Paint Shop Pro7.

    Thanks,
    Ang

You have some decent content, and I don't even like fishing! If I were you though, I would:

    - Move away from pain shop pro and image ready. Create some nice looking text so everything's not so "imagey".

    - Get rid of the splash page (the very first page when you enter the site). People tend not to like them these days. Especially if you're a repeat visitor and you have to click past the splash page on every visit to get to the content.

    - Maybe lighten it up a little. Everything's quite dark.

Apart from that, it's pretty good on the face of it. Though I haven't spent much time looking through it. Hate fishing lol

As your sites HTML based (and not Flash) check these sites for some design inspiration:

    Question

Thanks for the advice so far, I appreicate it very much.

Are flash sites the only way to go now days? Do people prefer them over the html sites?

    Thanks,
    Ang

Flash sites are NOT by any means the "only way to go". Only use flash where it's actually needed or would be useful in some way. Normally HTML and CSS is absolutely perfect!

    Agreed.

Ang, if you want individual pages on your site to rank well with search engines stick with HTML.

    My recommendations:

Don't produce sites that will offend a group of people.
I am a Vegan and although I don't hack sites I know some Vegans that do.

I don't think he needs to worry about vegan hackers (lol). Maybe if it was a website promoting the use of fur he could have trouble, but not fishing hehe
