    Second is better; Google counts - as spaces.

    along with being beter for seo in ranking terms the second is also more likely to be selected by a user seeking that topic

    I've heard some discussion that Google may be penalising directory optimization.. as for Yahoo and MSN this absolutely does help you.

    I'm not convinced that the dashes do much. I'm seeing plenty of top results now not using them for several key phrases.

    That's rediculous, IMHO.

    And progressively they'll try to make it so that dashes aren't required for it to recognize each keyword, but for now it's best to just put them in. What could it hurt, eh?
