    domain name ? question

    i was wondering what do you guys feel about .org names ?

    i found a keyword for a product

    keyword-keyword.org

    It depends on the keywords and your goals with the site and the kind of image you want.

    whats the topic - cars, films etc
    what kind of site is it - commercial, fan site etc
    might help us determine if an org would be ok

    I only use org if the site is non-profit or if I want a non-profit or academic image.

    For a plain content site, using a .org is fine.

    Personally, I would also use a .org if need be for a content site that runs a few ads (such as AdSence). Providing the content is really of use and not just their purely to make money (such as an affiliate site).

    There's no way I'd use a .org for a commercial / e-commerce site though. It gives off completely the wrong image, many would even see it as abuse.

    Pure content, no ads - yes.

    Good Content (probably reference content) and some text ads - most likely, yes.

    Pure affiliate scheme / e-commerce - No way.
