    Best extension for SEO

Does anyone have any knowledge or opinion about the best file extension to use for SEO purposes? Such as filename.html, filename.htm, filename.php, filename/, filename

I think that filename/ might be best because it would appear as a separate directory. However, I am only speculating about this.

    Any thoughts?

It doesn't really matter much. Far greater things to worry about.

Does even matter at all anymore? I've seen no difference between my pages that end in .php and those that are setup to look like a directory.

According to the World Wide Web Consortium, it's best to use filename/

Also, it makes it the easiest for you if you choose to change what language powers your website.
