    Vanilla - new forum software

    Found this tonight: Vanilla

    From their website:

With Vanilla we wanted to break the mold created and followed by just about every other forum on the web. We sat down and thought about what we liked, and more importantly, what we didn't like about web forums. We wanted emphasis on the discussions rather than the statistics. We wanted to stop using MSN or AIM to send secret messages to other forum members; We wanted to be able to save the common searches. Basically, we wanted the thing to work for us instead of against us.
It's certainly interesting take on typical forum software.

(I've installed it at Which Community [see sig] if you want to look)

The threads are displayed as default (as 'discussions') and you need to click the 'categories' tab to see what is basically the forum list.

Have a play with it - it's definitely looking nice.

It blows my mind developers still release forumsoft without clean url's ... it's a piece of cake for a dev to include such feature.

The design and stuff is nice, but as far as the interface goes it doesn't get me too excited.
