    Traffic estimates tool

    http://www.metricsmarket.com/tools/trafficchecker/

I wonder how do they know and access the log of my site?

    BTW websitepublisher.net has:

"Estimated 269,400 visitor sessions in the last 30 days"

Which is incredible in such a short time for a new site!

    They can't.

What they are probably doing is going through logs of ISPs.

All in all it is very similar to what Alexa does.

The results shown above are collected from a sample of over 2 million users. They are usually accurate to within 5-15% of real traffic, however some anomalies may happen which can reduce the accuracy.

Alexa and similar tools tend not to be very accurate. They work the same way that Nielsen and Jupiter work, but the users aren't representative of the general internet population.

This tool is sooooo off target -- maybe it's just for the site's I've tested. It's funny that they state the tool may have a 1 to 15% margain of error.... more like 80% for the site's I checked.

They're under by about 20%ish for me for one site. It's actually not a terrible guess- I've seen worse.

    From http://www.metricsmarket.com/news/in...trafficchecker

Methodology is proprietary information and a closely guarded secret at this time until we have completed investigations into protection and copyright. Information is gathered from a large segment of Internet users and covers at least the top 3 million websites worldwide and cross checked against various sources to provide the most accurate figure.

Games2Go got slightly over what I have...

3BGames got 6,700,900 while it actually gets about 250 a month, because it is online supposed to be for friends who can't get on games2go because of websense.
