How do you stay motivated?

Ok, I need to step it up a notch. I think I have been slacking recently as I have been working on a new site which has been slow going. I need some motivation.

How do you guys (and gals) stay motivated. I need to stay focused and not be distracted (ohh look a squirrel) and stay focused, did I already say that.

Anyhoo you must have some way of keeping yourselves on track so you get at least some work done each day.

Set yourself goals and write them down.

Make the goals very specific. Specify exactly what you want to achieve and by when. I.e. 'I will gain 40 backlinks by Sunday 17th April.' not 'I will work on gaining backlinks this week.'

Read through your goals every morning, and maybe a few more times in the day.

Keeping your goals at the forefront of your mind in well defined terms will help you stay focused and your mind will work towards completing them.
