Quality content is honest, clear, and serves no hidden agendas. The audience is smart and will see right through content that pretends to be one thing but is actually a veiled attempt at generating transactions.

Quality matters a lot in SEO! We should focus on link quality over quantity.

Quality content helps to attract the right audience to your website, engage them and work towards getting the user to take action on your website. If the user finds the content valuable, then they are more likely to share it.
We prefer Quality over Quantity.
In the case of content marketing, “quality” really comes down to two definitions that matter: To Google (and most search engines), quality content is content that gives the searcher what they're looking for; it delivers the value that someone intends to find when they enter their query in a fast and easy way.
Quality content is important to boost ranking of a website.
I wish people would stop regurgitating what they read on the web without testing it. relevant content is way more important. We have taken content from either site and barely spun it and outrank the sites we took content from. Why because we had more. A more comprehensive view of the topic at hand. This is why directories rank so easily. They are basically a culmination of duplicate content from other websites. Duplicate content is absolute rubbish and quality content means nothing if it's not relevant or a deal on the website. Cmon guys it's time to get of this bandwagon: SEO rules that have been the same for the last decade.
The biggest question that you have to answer about your website is DOES it satisfy user intent.. and then some.
