What is Keyword density?

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on your web page when compared to the total number of words. The higher your site’s key word density, the more likely it will show up in search engine results pages (SERPs) for that particular term. But if the percentage is too high. It will make your content look spammy for Search Engines and Google and penalized it.
Also I feel that Google now is pretty good on understanding context and synonyms. So sometimes you should not include only direct keyword by itself, and can uses phrases that will make your content more readable. Also keep in mind Long Tail Keywords and even keywords that don't have any search volume in ahrefs, keyword planner and other tools. You can get traffic from zero volume keywords. Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization, keyword density can be used to determine whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.
