Magento is a good option to host a E-commerce website.

many of the options mentioned above are great myself being a advocate for magneto and woo. Honestly however there are a big stumbling block for these websites and that in terms of adwords they do not do great without paid extensions and even then. When compared to amazon, shopify ( i hate them ) but they do tend to perform much better from a search engine standpoint despite their inflexibility as E commerce websites platforms .

The best platform according to I is Shopify. It is the most cost effective way of establishing and managing an e commerce website.
Apart from that, Majento is a good platform as well.
