Do you guys put your actual home address on your domain name when you register ?
I dont have any other alternate address other than home address.
Is there anything i would have to worry about ?

There shouldn't be. Obviously someone could look up your address and come and kill you, but if they really want to kill you they can look you up in the phone book anyways.
Putting fake information in can result in you losing your domain. There are privacy services though, but they cost extra.
I would worry about protecting your email address more than your home address. Make sure that you provide an address you don't mind getting spammed. Many spammers harvest email addresses from the public whois domain ownership information. I set up an email alias that I only use for domain registration, and 75% of the spam I get comes to that address.
There's also one company I know of that harvests your street address to send you paper junk mail. I'm sure that like me, many of you have gotten junk mail from "Domain Registry of America."
Wow Chris, talk about looking on the bleak sideObviously someone could look up your address and come and kill you
"Domain Registry of America"
"Bluehalo"
Are a few of the companies that either harvest whois details or company details.
Namecheap offers free privacy thing at the moment I think.
If you are really worried get a PO Box.
On a serious point, Inkca is right, there are some name harvesters out there who will send you a "renewal reminder" for your domain at an inflated rate in about 9 months after first registering.
Well there were, they may have been stopped now, I havent seen one in a while. (This was .com renewals for companies based in the UK)
Same for me. I got a lot of them within a month of registering as a company.
Yeah, free for the first year and only $5 per year after that. I have it on PayPerClickAdvertising.info, it looks like this- http://www.whois.sc/payperclickadvertising.infoOriginally Posted by incka
Worth the money IMHO (after the initial free period).

God damnit. That explains it--thanks.Many spammers harvest email addresses from the public whois domain ownership information
I hear http://domainsbyproxy.com is a good service.
I wouldn't worry. Using your real address is fine - that's what it was designed for.
