A broken link or dead link is a link on a page that never again works on the grounds that the site is experiencing at least one of the reasons underneath. An uncalled for URL entered for the link by the site proprietor. The goal site expelled the connected website page (causing what is known as a 404 mistake).

Google really hates the broken links. Basically broken is a page on your site that links to another site that no longer exist. This is very bad for two reasons. Firstly bad user experience because when people click a few links on your site that bring them nowhere they will simply get discouraged and second google will check every link on your page and once it sees that some of them bring people nowhere it will just value your page less because it's apparently linking to some really outdated resources.

A broken link is an inactive link which will result in an error page being displayed when clicked up on. It usually occurs when the link being pointed towards a web page is either moved to a new address or has been deleted. It is desirable to fix the broken links since it can prevent search engines from completely indexing your website.
