How do you get ranked well in Yahoo?

Having just checked, my adventure vacations in sig is at number 7
On google it is not even on page 7

I haven't done anything particular to do well in Yahoo it is just there, so how do you please the Yahoo bot?

Apparently on-page factors count more with Yahoo!, Im #1 for 'house buying guide' on Yahoo, but nowhere on Google - need more PR I think.

What is ment by on-page factors? like what stuff exactly? I like having good ranking in yahoo as well as google because it helps keep the site stable and higher average profit. i was #1 in yahoo then suddenly it started throwing me all around the rankings.

On-page means factors like your title, headings, keyword density etc - things in the code of the page that you control directly.

Off-page is mainly backlinks and backlink text. I.e. PR and keywords in your backlink text. This is more out of the control of the webmaster (other than writing good content that people will link to etc..).

I'm far better on yahoo, for instance im no.1 for free smileys and no.4 for msn emotions.

I think it is because yahoo don't have a online-time variable as google as (google use this to stop spam. personally i hate their guts for including this).

It's a way to stop spam. Google things spam sites will give up while honest sites will be in it for the long run. From comparing yahoo and google I would say google has more spam sites in its listings than yahoo.

If it's ture spam you can always report it. I did that awhile back for a skateboarding term that brought up a ton of porn links in the first two pages. Now I rank in the top 10 for that search.

I'd say that yahoo gets between 50-75% compared with google.
