Page rank is important for SEO in previous days, but present Page rank is not updating so now we can't able to consider PR for website. It's better to consider the domain authority of website.

As of some resources google is not updating page rank.So you need to focus on how to increase relevant traffic, sales and ROI.But one should not ignore pagerank as well because while indexing the web pages google considers many factors in which pagerank is also one of the factor,if your competitors has high page rank then google gives their website more priority.
