    Designs...

I am rubbish at making designs for websites... I can imagine what I want, but I can never make it. I just am not an artist... Can anyone give me tips that would make my life easier...

These are two sites that I'm making... Any design ideas would also be helpful:

    Walking Guide
    Online Library

    Thanks all...

I am kinda the same way -- I'm alright at design -- but I'm no master. I can't compete with the stuff you can get at template sites.

So now I usually buy templates and alter them or I go to DesignOutpost.com and make a contest.

And why don't I just buy them form www.website-templates.net

Don't advertise your own site much on these forums do you...

Well one should not advertise their sites in the meat of their posts, only in their signature.

Online-literature.com is not a template, I did that one.

This site is an altered template I bought direct from a designer.

I think the designs I make are sometimes OK, but comparing them to template sites do intimidate me a lot.

How much money should you put up for a contest at design-outpost.com?

I just posted a contest on Design Outpost upon suggestion by our fearless administrator. I threw some ideas up that were pretty detailed and we'll see what $150 can bring home. You can take a look at how things shape up at the link below...

If anyone has any suggestions as to layout, by all means, let me know.

I think you should explain more what you want with the javascript mouseover, since the person who makes the template may try doing that themself -- or you can specifically state that you don't want them to try it.

I thought about that. Having them do it would save me some work...

I have had some samples submitted already, so please check them out and see what you think. I could use some input...
