I think a good informative travel site should make good money. I do not know where you live but pretend it is in Montana. You could build a site called "Travel Montana" alot of content could be gotten for free from your state government. You would hopefully list information and reviews on popular tourist attractions or activities (hunting, fishing, camping, hiking I'm guessing, not much else in Montana is there?).
Now "Travel Las Vegas" would be more popular, but you'd have much more competition in that case.
To add to Chris comment: ICANN are considering a .travel TLD.
