    Keyword research tools

What are the cool kids using for keyword research nowadays? I haven't really done any serious keyword research in a few years and now everything's changed on me. Can anyone recommend some good (preferably free) sites where I can do some basic keyword search volume analysis?

    http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com

I only do keyword research for comparative analysis, and this is the tool I use.

I don't ever bother to try to do traffic prediction, because I've never seen it possibly be accurate.

I agree, the important is your chosen keywords must be related to your website.

A good strategy perhaps is using different tools and then creating the top words lists and then taking a look at the top Google ranking websites to determine which additional words webmasters are using for promoting their sites over the net. It might not be a good tactic targeting the main terms all the time.

I use the google adwords tool as well and compare with Market Samurai, but ditto, doesn't every seem to be accurate.

Wordtracker is good. I like to contrast it with Google Adwords Keyword Tool. I utilized the Site Build It program to construct my website and find effective keywords.

I think this is the best suggestion, but I this can be very time consuming process.
