Amazon AWS changes with Subscription Key

Does anyone still use the AWS script from the articles here?

If so, have you migrated to the signing the requests sent to Amazon with the access ID (rather than subscription ID).

If you have, can you give me any pointers - I havn't yet fathomed wether it is really easy to change, totally different, or somewhere in between.

For those not aware, it needs to be changed by 15th August.

The articles here are very old and probably aren't a good starting point anymore. Amazon has changed a good deal since.

They may be old, but I still have a number of storefronts that are working well using those scripts.

They may only bring in a few £100's a year from Amazon but I am loathe just to let that go if there is an easy fix.

Looking at the Amazon developer guides though, I am not sure there is an easy fix to the signing issue, not that wont cost me more in time or development costs than I will earn back.

I thought I got a notice from Amazon that any older AWS stuff was going to cease to work, like last year.

They still work fine for me - I have tweaked the script slightly over time, but more to do with swapping hosts than anything Amazon has done. The XML feed from them still works fine.

Sorting the signing issue was not such an ordeal in the end, as I found a fairly simple script to process the request.

Hopefully it is all working, but it still may all fall over on 15 August!

can you share what you found? I just realized I may have to do it too. I don't have any AWS sites anymore, but one site still searches Amazon's product database with it.
