    Ad Sales

    Hello,

I've truly enjoyed reading the fabulous information that Chris is sharing with the world. I've recently decided to publish a few sites and want to make sure I do it right.

The information on revenue streams have primarily dealt with PPC, and affiliate programs. How about allowing companies to place a traditional ad on the site - optimizing it of course.

Have anyone had an experience in this area? Rather than using the PPC model, how about setting up advertising accounts where the customer/client pays monthly?

May I have your thoughts on this as well, Chris?

You can do it but it is a lot more work and unless you have a local site you'll find it hard to do so until you get big. Big companies aren't going to spend a little bit on a little site, they buy big campaigns.

You can also do both. Do the ad network ads but try to sell some of your own on the side.
