What exactly happens if you get Blacklisted?

Ok, so I have heard of several webmasters getting blacklisted for sending link requests. When you get blacklisted does that mean that your ISP is blacklisted? or does it mean that your webhost simply bans your account and you need to find another webhost and you'll be set to resume normal business practices? Just curious as I send out many link requests and want to know the terminology. Do the following have the same meaning?
    1. ISP address gets blacklisted
    2. Webhost suspends your account permanently

    Thanks a bunch

A spam blacklist usually means that the IP address that is sending your mail (depending on how you have things setup it could belong to your ISP or it could be the IP of your web hosting account) is listed and then services that subscribe to that blacklist will block email from that IP.

Ok, thanks Chris. I really do appreciate what your doing with this board. You really should write an eBook. As much as you know about web marketing you shouldn't let all that go to waste. Make some money off of it! Thanks again

Eventually this site will make money. Its still in the growth stage right now though and since my other sites make me plenty I have no need to monetize this one yet.

What are your other sites Chris? I run a weight loss website and am a rookie as I have been online for about 5 months. Do you ever use Google adwords? I've tried them, but can't seem to get anywhere with it. Is there some sort of trick to it?

My other sites are in my signature.

Adwords just depends on having the right text for your ad and picking the right keywords. It won't be appropriate for all sites.

Does that mean you will be charging for content, or just using clever affiliate and advertisement techniques?

    I also agree with callenb...
Don't you just love free internet games ?

Definitely not charging for content... advertising mostly (mostly through AdSense probably if the program stays as strong as it is). Affiliate links are a part of it (and are already up) but I don't plan on them being a major part.
