Increasing my traffic...

Hi all,

Months ago incka posted a thread named something like "Help me 5 fold my traffic in a week". I think he got from about 100 uniques a day to 2000 in around four months.

Anyway, I need something similar to happen. At the moment I'm averaging around 220 uniques a day (gone up a lot this month), but it's not increasing.

So does anyone have any tips? I have submitted to all the major search engines, and a little bit of my traffic is coming from them. Also I've exchanged links with sites on the same topic.

The site is msn-emotions.net

Anyone got any ideas?

I have done one thing for you. Let it remain secret between us, as if everyone knows PR can not be gained. I think Chris also knows, as some of his sites seem to use it.

I just read all posts in the thread; http://www.websitepublisher.net/foru...=&threadid=145. One thing I found is multiple submissions to zeal.

q1. Can you list your site more than once in zeal?

q2. If you can do that, does it help to get more traffic from zeal?

Yea mike, thefreesite is really very good if you can get listed it does help.

I recently got into Zeal, well signed up - whats peoples problem with the quiz? i passed first time only got one wrong and that was a stupid mistake too! Your site's already in there mike so no need to worry about that.

Has anyone tried getting into dmoz for msn emotions sites? Ive tried but got no where!

sitepointrefugee, Does zeal still link into msn search like was said in that thread? Its really bugged me that msn search is paid only.

Yeh I sent thefreesite an email the other day Jaff, so hoping they will link to me in a bit. Did they reply to you? If so, how long did they take?

About Dmoz. I tried ages ago to get in, but like you I got nowhere! Don't think there is a good editor there. I tried to be it, but got rejected.

Damn that sucks. The current editor is no good at all, surely another editor would be worthwhile!

Ermm, thefreesite got back to me in about 24hours i think, very quick response. although i done mine on a sunday so it might just have been that they update on a weekly basis.

I've become friends with the owner of the free site... He is going to list my MSN Emotions site next update...

I applied to be the DMOZ editor of that category but got turned down as they said I was doing it for commercial purposes...

I think the next trend is going to be buddy icons site... I have a domain, Dave M has a domain and I think Mike is considering making one...

It's never going to be that profitable though. If you're doing it for the money, surely putting your effort into a more lucrative industry would be better?

Yeah I've decided against the buddy icons site. At the moment from 150 uniques a day on my msn emotions site, i'm making $5-$10 a day. It's more competitive with the buddy icons, so I don't see the point.

In a few weeks I'm making a site that google pays well for. It's competitive, but I'll see what I can do.

MSN Emotions IS profitable...

I'm earning $25 a day from only 500 visitors from Smiley Central affiliate program (I'm writing an article about it for website publisher, want to contribute? PM me)...

I'm also earing about another $8 from google on it, but can't be too sure because I haven't added the channels yet.

Well he could use the PR built off his buddy site to help launch other sites...

And buddy icon sites don't make much money per visitor, but they successful ones get TONS of visitors.

But most of your money comes from games2go, which gets over 2000 uniques a day i believe. I suppose it would be possible to make $50 a day off it.

I use SUBIDs on azoogle, it comes from MSN, only a small bit comes from games2go, less than $5 a month, cause fastclick fill almost all my inventory...
