    new yahoo engine

i haven't noticed any hits from Yahoo Slurp in my logs yet... i've seen about 58 from Inktomi Slurp so far, but that's just a tiny fraction of my site... what should i do to get the yahoo spider crawling my site?

Yahoo seem to say that their bot is Yahoo! Slurp.

As long as you have lots of backlinks, they should find you.

They haven't really publicized that page though, people have just found it. Maybe there bot will be Yahoo! Slurp but they haven't gotten around to changing the name on it yet.

Before yahoo used google for searches, who did they use? I like that one. I got high listings and the listings of the site had more content to them.

I *think* they used excite and/or Alta Vista.

I loved Alta Vista back in the late 90s

Altavista rocked! Do I have to pay to submit to Inktomi? I must admit, I've only really bothered with google up until now.
