    does the page type matter? (html, php, etc.)

    Does it matter what extension your pages have? I've heard somewhere (don't recall where) that .html is better.

    Page extensions shouldn't matter for search engines.

    Straight HTML pages have a speed benefit of being served up a few milliseconds faster than pages with a .php, .asp, etc., script.
