Creating a "marketplace" on a site

I am currently writing articles for a new community site, for musicians, with tutorials, interviews, etc and of course a forum. However, I would also like to have a "marketplace" (I guess I would call it) where visitors could list used instruments and such.

I would like that marketplace to function more or less like Craig's List. In other words, no one has to register to post (unlike a forum) and I would also like the listings to expire automatically after about 10 days. It would be great if users could also upload pictures and if there was a captcha or any other anti-spam solution.

Does anyone know how I would go about setting up something like that?

I have experience setting up perl scripts, so for me it would be easiest if this was run by a perl script.

Any tips and/or suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks...

I would suggest learning PHP and doing it that way. Or looking for a vbulletin addon that can handle it (see vbulletin.org)

Or... hire someone to make it custom.
