    Non-CPanel Database

    Hi webserver gurus,

I was given an opportunity to install a forum software (Invision) in my church server.
The administrator provided the DB access: database name, username and password. And the administrator mentioned:

"Please be careful in usage and installation,
because the DB is shared among all user groups."

I am use to only working with CPanel when dealing with database as that is what I have been using on my websites so far. Where would I start?
I don't want to mess up as there are many websites on the church server.

I haven't used Invision but suspect you need to create one database for the program. Perhaps ask the administrator to create that database for you?
