There is some similar ones that I've seen, but I forgot what they were...
Searchfeed and RevenuePilot

Both pay per click in a similar fashion (not exactly the same though).
Chris, have you used either of the above? If so, do they perform anywhere near as good as Adsense?
I've used both, searchfeed is better.
They don't perform as well, but they perform, and in a different way.

Check out the "essay" link in the "Related Links" section. That is how I implement SearchFeed.
It is a text link, and I get to define the keyword. Those two features Adsense cannot do.
The text link takes up no real space, so its all additional advertising. I've been pulling in $20 a day from it. Not bad considering it is a tiny text link.
The link gets clicked on over 2000 times a day, and I get around 400 clicks on search results (the ones I actually get paid for).
Wow, some nice stats there. I clicked the link you mention and I like the way the URL remains part of your site, http://www.online-literature.com/Sea...keyword=essays
How come the search returned no results, "No Results Found". Have you made some changes or something?
The search returns results for me.... maybe it has to do with you being outside the US.
Nah, I'm in the UK and I get the results.
I'm in the UK and I don't :S
its javascript driven, what browser are you using?
weird :)
I'm using IE6.
IE5.5
IE6 on XP here.
Did you find out the problem Chris?
Also, do you know what the average PPC is for a normalish keyword?
Thanks,
Mike
Probably about $0.10 to $0.30 ?? If there's any such thing as a normalish keyword :)
No, I don't know what the issue is.
I'd guess the average would probably be 8 or 7 cents.
Really? That low? On overture at least, I don't recall seeing a bid for less than 10 cents?
Actually, maybe there's a set minimum bid of $0.10 on overture?
It does seem pretty low...
How about a high keyword, such as web hosting? Surely nearer the $1 mark?
Thanks,
Mike
You can check for yourself by searching at searchfeed.com
From my own experiences, my adsence earnings seem to concur more with Overture. But then, I may just have a good batch of ads.
I would say for webhosting in particular, the average would be much closer to $1.
Didn't know you could check the PPC prices with not being a member...
Anyway, I did and "web hosting" came up at about $0.64. Not as good as adsense, but still quite impressive.
top web hosting one on overture is like $18 or something
Shame they don't offer a PPC program for publishers then:)
Searchfeed is a smaller company, their rates won't be as good.
What is good about them though is that their program is different from other programs.
You host the search results on your site and you can link to them pretty much any way you want (which allows you to do in-context linking that can't be done with Google.)
How old are they? Are they growing rapidly? Can we expect their rates to increase accordingly?
So say if you were writing a review on something, you could include one of the advertisers in the text and it would be ok?Quote:

For example, say if websitepublisher was with them, and I had an article on webmaster sites, would this be ok?
"There are many webmaster sites out there, our favorite being Website Publisher..."
Mike
Well I've justed applied to Search Feed and am waiting for my application to be approved.
I plan on adding single word text links like Chris has to the bottom of the articles on my site which will be about all aspects of web design. I plan on adding a section about web hosting, so hopefully (fingers crossed) the links will perform well for me.
Fingers crossed I get approved too :)

You can't link to an advertiser directly -- you can link to search result sets only.
Ah ok. Thanks.
KeithMcL, Did you get approved? I did. Unfortunately, their site seems to be going SO slow that I can't do a thing with it at the moment :(
Sounds like a great program....
ABout how many advertisers do they have....
Would they have results for alot of niche sites?
Seems to me that both programs get feeds from Looksmart -- so they have quite a bit of advertisers.
by the way, if you're reading this thread and haven't read the official review on the two programs I mentioned:
http://www.websitepublisher.net/arti...-revenuepilot/
chromate, yes I did. I found the site slow too, but figured it was just because it was on a secure site (https).
I'm going to look at adding the links to the article footers tomorrow.
You can also do this with RevenuePilot.Quote:

I've seen lots of good ppc search engine affiliate programs on the web where you can earn over 70% of their revenue. But I've never seen nother as good as Google Adsense yet.
I like Adsense alot!!
John, shhhh you're not supposed to talk about it ;) heh
Chromate Thanks! for reminding me!
I've changed it now
Thanks!
Chris, thanks for the link. Your article offers a great intro!
