Hosting and ssl

My hosting company recently did a sort of merge with another one , in this time i purchased a domain with a dedicated ip , and ssl certificate . Now i know a bit about setting them up but the company im with has no options in their cpanel for a user to resolve. I asked them to sort it out and they agreed , they did the csr and all the other things needed , then wind up telling im not registered ( the domain ) how is that even possible. Anyway after a lengthy phone conversation i was found to be... registered lol. Its a bad company and i intend moving , i want to ask however how long is a ssl certificates validation usually?
