Has anyone been accepted into dmoz as of late ?
Not I for sure.
I'm working on a site that will be beyond quality by even DMOZ's standards. When I submit it to DMOZ in the next month, I will come back to this thread and give details on the site, and when I submitted it.
The category shouldn't be a vacant one with no editors (given that it is a technical topic)... but we'll see.
Thanks Kyle i will do the same...
I have had 4-5 sites listed in the last year or so :)
It is swings and roundabouts though because before that, I hadn't had anything listed in a year or two, and before that I would get everything listed
One thing I always do before submitting any site to DMOZ is read through the listing criteria and double check my site and submission to ensure it is correct.
I've submitted it, but it hasn't been indexed yet.
I generally don't bother with DMOZ. Just to test it out, I submitted one of my sites just now. I'll report back if/when I get in.
After having a long break, do you think it still worth for submitting at DMOZ... your opinion please...
Last time i was added to dmoz was around June of 2006. They are definitely worth it.
I got one site listed a year ago or so.
I don't know, but I have been waiting for around 4 years now for my sites to get added.
I just don't bother with it anymore.
I've submitted one of my blogs at DMOZ , now , a year later it is not listed.
May be because its a Blogger blog, but it is not a personal weblog.
Na, it's most probably because there is either no editor for that category or they don't want to approve it as you are a competitor of their blogs that they have already included into Dmoz.
I think it is good to be listed there but I don't let it stress me if I am not. I have seen people on other forums whine like crazy because they were not listed on Dmoz. It is just a part of the overall picture and the biggest concern should still be having good content. JMO
I've submitted one of my sites 3 times in half year, but not listed.lol
btw, around 2 years ago, after submitted,i can see the track from dmoz(editor check my site) but, nothing now.
I think not... There are many editors on DMOZ that are corrupt they will list you if you pay but actually DMOZ listing is for FREE.
Why have some quality directories as substitute instead of DMOZ?
There are lots of them and it's free like for example Jayde.com
I have also heard that there are some that will approve your listing if you pay them. I have never had a site approved into Dmoz yet as they are still awaiting in the approval queue since around 3 - 4 years or more ago.
